AAK1, active Human Recombinant Kinase Protein
10 µg of active AAK1. N-terminal 6His-tagged, recombinant fragment of human AAK1.
Biological information
Background
AAK1 (AP2 Associated Kinase 1) belongs to the SNF1 subfamily of serine/threonine protein kinases. This kinase is detected in brain, heart and liver, and plays an important role in regulating the clathrin-mediated endocytosis of the rabies virus, facilitating infection. Inhibitors of AAK1 are being studied as candidate therapeutics to disrupt the entry of viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, into target cells. It is also involved in positive regulation of Notch pathway signaling in mammals. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2020]
