SIK3, active

N-terminal GST and C-terminal 6His-tagged, recombinant, human SIK3 amino acids 1-307.

Biological information

Background
SIK (Myocardial Snf1-Like Kinase or Msk) was initially identified as a Ser/Thr kinase with homology to yeast Snf1 that is involved in mouse cardiogenesis. The human gene maps to a chromosomal region associated with congenital heart defects in Down's syndrome. Snf1 is a histone kinase (H3, Ser10) that may be involved in transcriptional regulation; a role for SIK in histone modification has not yet been firmly established. SIK3 IS involved in positive regulation of TORC1 signaling, positive regulation of TORC2 signaling, and protein phosphorylation. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]
