Pim1, active
N-terminal GST-tagged recombinant, human full length Pim-1.
Biological information
Background
Protein serine/threonine kinase PIM1 (pim-1-oncogene) is a member of a small family of highly homologous kinases, including PIM1, PIM2, and PIM3, and all members are expressed in the thymus. Overexpression of each of these members can promote lymphomagenesis in mice. PIM1 associates with Myb and phosphorylates the Myb DNA binding domain, suggesting that it regulates Myb protein activity by direct phosphorylation. Recently four proto-oncogenes PIM1, cMYC, PAX-5 and RhoH/TTF were found hypermutated in diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) with >50% of cases carrying at least two mutated genes.
