CALIXAR’s Membrane Protein GPCR targets listed below, are continuously being optimized in our laboratories and are already available for purchase from our expanding catalog.
Purified membrane proteins FAQs
CALIXAR offers full-length, native, and functional GPCRs.
We overexpress, solubilize, stabilize and purify our GPCRs with our patented technologies, so we can offer you the highest quality proteins. We use standard quality tests to confirm :
- Purity (SDS-PAGE, UV Spectrum…)
- Stability (Thermal Shift Assay, Cryo-Stability Assay…)
- Homogeneity (SEC, DLS…)
- Functionality (Ligand Binding Assay, Ion Flux Assay, Enzymatic Activity…)
Our GPCRs are the best source for functional, structural, or identification assays, as they are strictly identical to the ones in membranes. Our membrane proteins can be extracted from different expression systems (human, insect, and yeast cells, bacteria, virus…)
Here are some of our GPCR membrane targets that are currently available for purchase from CALIXAR.
G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) are one of the largest families of integral membrane proteins. More than 700 genes are identified as G-protein coupled receptors. As the name suggests, the binding of an agonist to the GPCR receptor results in the recruitment and activation of the G protein, or of other transducers like arrestins.
GPCRs are specific to a wide range of ligands, including photons, small molecules, and proteins. When the receptor is activated by an agonist, its conformation is altered in a ligand-dependent manner, triggering specific modulation and activation of G proteins in the cell.
An active G protein can induce various intracellular messenger cascades, allowing the regulation of an incredible array of functions in the human body. GPCRs-driven signaling pathways are involved in pretty much every physiological function and in many pathologies including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and Schizophrenia. They are the target of about 34% of modern drugs.
CALIXAR provides native Membrane Protein GPCR Targets in full-length form, and without mutation. Their purity is higher than 90% and their stability allows them to be used in many different life science projects.
GPCRs play a vital role in interfering with a wide variety of physiological events, from sensory modulations to hormonal responses.
They are particularly involved in many diseases of the central nervous system (CNS). CALIXAR’s Membrane Protein GPCR Targets can be used to develop and test new and innovative drugs.
