MLK4, active Human Recombinant Kinase Protein

N-terminal GST-tagged recombinant, human MKL4 amino acids 114-420.

Biological information

Background
MLK4 (Mixed-Lineage Kinase 4) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that belongs to the mixed lineage kinase family of MAP3Ks (mitogen-activated protein Kinase kinase kinases). MLK4 has been shown to activate several downstream signaling pathways, including the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) pathway, the p38 MAPK pathway, and the NF-κB pathway, and it has been suggested to play a role in the regulation of cell survival, apoptosis, and inflammation. Research has suggested that MLK4 may also be involved in the regulation of several other physiological processes, including cardiovascular function and cancer progression. MLK4 has been implicated in the development and progression of several types of cancer, including breast cancer, prostate cancer, and pancreatic cancer, and efforts to develop small-molecule inhibitors of the kinase are underway as potential therapies for these conditions.
