CK1a Kinase Enzyme Activity Assay Kit
The CK1alpha Kinase Enzyme Activity Assay Kit offers a validated, ready-to-use biochemical assay based on the renowned ADP Hunter™ Plus Assay platform from DiscoverX for accurately measuring kinase inhibitor efficacy. The kit includes recombinant CK1alpha, substrate, ATP, detection reagents, and assay plates, enabling precise quantification of ADP accumulation. Designed to handle elevated ATP concentrations, this assay delivers robust, reliable data ideal for high-throughput screening (HTS) and other drug discovery applications.
Biological information
The Kinase Enzyme Activity Assay Kit provides a reliable biochemical method for evaluating kinase inhibitors. Built on HitHunter® assay technology, this kit is specifically optimized for CK1alpha. It comes with all essential components, including recombinant CK1alpha (Eurofins #16-050), a substrate, ATP, detection reagents, and assay plates. Each kit is accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA), which outlines the recommended reaction conditions for accurate inhibitor detection. The supplied materials are sufficient to perform experiments covering two, six or twenty five 384-well assay plates.
CK1alpha is a serine/threonine protein kinase belonging to the casein kinase 1 (CK1) family, a group of constitutively active kinases that regulate diverse cellular processes through phosphorylation of a wide range of substrates. CK1alpha plays central roles in cell cycle control, circadian rhythm regulation, Wnt/beta-catenin signalling, DNA damage responses, and protein turnover. Amongst other proteins, the kinase phosphorylates p53, MDM2, PER proteins, and components of the NF-kappaB pathway, placing it at key regulatory nodes of growth control, stress responses, and inflammation. The dysregulation of CK1alpha has been implicated in the development and progression of several types of cancer, making it an attractive target for anticancer therapy.
