MKP5, active

10 µg of active MKP5. N-terminal 6His-tagged recombinant, human MKP5 amino acids 320-end.

Biological information

Background
MKP5, also known as DUSP10 (Dual Specificity Phosphatase 10), is a dual specificity protein phosphatase that inactivate their target kinases by dephosphorylating both the phosphoserine/threonine and phosphotyrosine residues. Dual specificity protein phosphatses negatively regulate members of the MAP kinase superfamily, which is associated with cellular proliferation and differentiation. Different members of this family of dual specificity phosphatases show distinct substrate specificities for MAP kinases, different tissue distribution and subcellular localization, and different modes of expression induction by extracellular stimuli. This gene product binds to and inactivates p38 and SAPK/JNK. GenBank NM_007207
