New publication to better understand the machinery around neurotransmitter receptor channels

August 20, 2020

CALIXAR is proud to announce a new publication in Cell Reports in collaboration with Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson.

In this work with David Bredt’s laboratory, CALIXAR’s team brought its expertise in membrane protein preparations and its proprietary tools to best maintain protein-protein interactions. Thanks to this, solubilizations of Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor Regulator Chaperone (NACHO) complexes from mouse forebrain, co-immunoprecipitations and proteomic analyses enabled to identify that NACHO associates with the ER oligosaccharyltransferase machinery and with calnexin. Finally, this great work provides insights into novel pharmacological strategies for these crucial nicotinic receptors in diverse aspects of brain physiology and disease.
