CALIXAR awarded Tatiana Labouré for her research work about pentameric neurotransmitter receptors involved in insecticides mechanisms of action, a poster prize presented at the 3rd Workshop APPICOM.

CALIXAR, an expert in the field of fully native and functional membrane protein isolation, took part in the APPICOM event as a sponsor last week. CALIXAR is proud to reward one of the promising young researchers with the "CALIXAR Poster Prize 2022".
For the third Workshop APPICOM, the jury was delighted to offer this prize to Tatiana Labouré from the Institut de Biologie Structurale (IBS) of Grenoble for her poster “Deciphering the Molecular Mechanism of Insecticides on Insect Neurotransmission by Cryogenic Electron Microscopy”.
Her work aims at imaging, using cryo-EM, pentameric ligand-gated ion channels from insects. Those proteins are located in neurons and important insecticide targets. For this purpose, she is producing and purifying those receptors from different species such as the honeybee, a bee parasite named Varroa destructor, or an aphid. The work should provide insights on the molecular mechanism of insecticide action and could pave the way for the development of more specific insecticides with less environmental impact.
Tatiana was rewarded and congratulated for her research and poster on pentameric neurotransmitter receptors.
